There are a couple of ways of getting to a particular block to start writing or editing a post.
(Right, was going to list them but can’t find the bullet point or numbered list icons … Okay I click on the + (add block button) in the right hand corner and then click on the ‘list’ icon/option. I then get a choice of all the types of lists that you can make and I have chosen bullet point style:-)
- Click on the right hand + icon (add block) I get the feeling that I am going to be doing this A LOT
- The type of block that you use the most will come up first when you click the + button
Right now I have created a new block using the paragraph block. The little icons at the top in paragraph mode include ‘change block mode’ page layout, bold, italic and link. However, as I start typing these disappear and I have to move the mouse to get them to reappear.
The ‘more’ option in paragraph mode includes
- Hide block settings
- Insert Before
- Insert After
- Edit as html
- Add to Reusable blocks (clearly one for later!!!)
- Remove block with bin icon – obviously deletes the whole block
Right, now I’m going to try and add an image so I click on the + button again and click on ‘image’. I now get three options; upload (from my laptop) or upload from media library or insert from a URL I can also just drag and drop so I’m going to try all four – Note: could not get the drag and drop to work
Is this normal paragraph text – I think so.
Let’s go and see …..
Yes I am now in a brand new block and typing away again. I’m going to see how to move the above image to the side of this text.
So here is how you do it.
Write your paragraph using the paragraph block
Create an image block using your chosen image
Using the up and down keys or by dragging and dropping move the image above the paragraph that you want the image to appear in
No that didn’t work. Can’t drag and drop the image and although I have inserted it into the test I can’t seem to move it up and down.
For now back to classic mode.
No… I will try one more time but Moose is waiting to have a word so one more try here goes …
no can’t seem to do it that way so I’m going to create the image block with the image first and then go back and press align left or align right and see if it fits in with this paragraph.
Yeah … that will do for now not that sure about re-positioning in the text but will be expecting a LOT of YouTube videos coming soon ….
Anyway, Moose are you there??????
Press + then formatting then add the chat codes – no that didn’t work at all.
Well I have inserted some moose chat by typing + insert block and then clicking html formatting but for some reason, the chat is not here but right up the page.
I need to do some research into moving content around easily but so far not too bad …. Well, quite bad … not too good either!
